Local Stationery Company Donates Sales to Breast Cancer Research
Blue Moon Paperie announced today the kick-off of their Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign: Send a note. Host a party. Save a life.
"Our 'GoodCause' collection of invitations and matching note cards not only feature the season's trendiest pink patterns, they also speak volumes," stated Blue Moon's founder and creative director, Dawn M. Viola.
Throughout the year, Blue Moon Paperie donates 10% of their proceeds to organizations who support
breast cancer awareness, research, and education. During the entire month of October, 100% of sales will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, more than 211,000 women will be diagnosed with
breast cancer and 43,300 die. One woman in eight either has or will develop
breast cancer in her lifetime. In addition, 1,600 men will be diagnosed with
breast cancer this year. If detected early, the five-year survival rate exceeds 95%. Mammograms are among the best early detection methods. To learn more about mammograms,
