Dysport Added as a Procedure on AmericanHealthandBeauty.com Letthe...

Dysport (http://www.americanhealthandbeauty.com/plastic%20surgery/procedures/Dysport/)(TM), a new cosmetic injectable used for treatment of fine lines and wrinkles on the face, has recently gained FDA approval and is expected to start hitting physicians's shelves in July, 2009. To spread the word, AmericanHealthandBeauty.com has added Dysport to their list of cosmetic and aesthetic procedures. Doctors and medical spas offering this treatment have the opportunity to advertise the procedure now, staying ahead of the curve.

Dysport uses a purified form of botulinum toxin type A, which when used in the appropriate dosage, temporarily paralyzes key muscles in the face, allowing them to relax, greatly reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Dysport is the first FDA approved drug of its type to compete with BOTOX (http://www.americanhealthandbeauty.com/plastic%20surgery/procedures/BOTOX/)(TM), which also uses the botulinum toxin. Jeffrey Adelglass, M.D., F.A.C.S., a cosmetic physician and Medical Director of SKINTASTIC Medical and Surgical Rejuvenation Center of Plano, who is currently one of the largest injectors of BOTOX in North Texas and the U.S., says, the major benefits of Dysport to the cosmetic patient will be that there are fewer injections needed, and results hopefully will last a little longer. Also, because of the spread, many patients find it takes action sooner, usually within 1-2 days, compared to BOTOX which typically takes 3-5 days. However, Dr. Adelglass also stresses that knowing your cosmetic injector has the right credentials and training will be very important. It is suggested that Dysport results might last up to a month or even two beyond that of BOTOX -- which could be a real bonus as long as the outcome is what you wanted; if not, you'sll have that much longer to live with the results. He also stated that Dysport is great for men with large foreheads. Dr. Adelglass, M.D., F.A.C.S. serves on the medical advisory board for Dysport, and on the National Education Foundation for Allergan, instructing other cosmetic physicians to safely administer Botox Cosmetic.

We'sre already seeing a quick rise in patients asking about Dysport, so it became clear that we needed to include it on the site, says Keith Veseleny, editor of AmericanHealthandBeauty.com. We'sre really excited to see what happens in July when Dysport comes out. If the inquiries we'sre getting are any indication, this will be one of the U.S.'ss most popular procedures.
