The Consulting Room (www.consultingroom.com), the UK's largest aesthetic information website, is proud to announce that it has been voted 'Best Website For Patients' by a panel of industry judges, including medical practitioners and industry analysts at the 2008 National Aesthetic Medicine Awards Ceremony held recently in London.
The consumer information website, which aims to demystify the world of surgical and non-surgical cosmetic enhancement treatments, beat off competition from five other short listed
websites to win the prestigious category.
Lorna Jackson, Editor of The Consulting Room said;
"This is the culmination of almost 5 years of online presence for The Consulting Room. We have long since established ourselves as a key resource for the general public looking for
information about the confusing range of cosmetic surgery and non-surgical treatment options available, but to receive this award really is great recognition from the industry, our peers,
that we are truly offering the quality service that we have always strived for."
Launched in May 2003, The Consulting Room provides detailed, online treatment and product FAQs, or frequently asked questions, to help guide consumers through the different types of
treatments available, covering what's involved, how things work, any risks or potential side effects, who should carry out particular treatments and the likely costs. All the information
is designed to be jargon-less, factual, accurate and unbiased in order to help members of the public make informed decisions on possible treatment options.
In addition, The Consulting Room also hosts a directory of UK & Ireland based clinics, and is the only major online clinic search directory who check that all sponsored listed clinics
in their database are registered with The Healthcare Commission (where required), and that all medical practitioners are also registered with their respective medical bodies.
The website also carries a variety of other useful information such as questions to ask when approaching a clinic and going for a consultation with a medical practitioner, plus
information about legislation and industry associations.
Lorna concludes;
"With the continued growth in the use of the Internet and the abundance of information that it contains, The Consulting Room will continue to strive to be the premier resource for
information on the aesthetic industry; for consumers, press and clinicians alike.
Here's looking forward to retaining our title of 'Best Website for Patients' again next year."
