29th Annual FreeSailing Weekend Launches 2005 Sailing Season in Boston



April 6 2005 Free sailboat rides along Bostons historic waterfront will highlight a weekend of celebration as the sailing season gets underway on Saturday and Sunday April 30 and May 1 2005 from 1pm to 6pm at the Boston Sailing Center Seasoned skippers and firsttime sailors of all ages are invited to join the festivities at Lewis Wharf Harbor sailing trips will be conducted by experienced sailors aboard a fleet of boats ranging in length from 23 to 40 feet The Centers teaching staff will be on hand to answer questions about sailing basics and about the history of Boston Harbor as a focal point of maritime activity in New England Those who sign up during the event will have a portion of their lesson andor membership fee donated to Save The HarborSave the Bay a nonprofit agency working to conserve and improve Boston Harbor as a recreational resource This years event marks the 29th annual FreeSailing Weekend at the Boston Sailing Center Headquartered in a converted Louisiana riverboat which is permanently docked at Lewis Wharf the Center's floating classroom and boat moorings are just a short walk north of Faneuil Hall Marketplace along Atlantic Avenue Public parking is available nearby For more information contact the Center at 617 2274198 or visit their website at wwwbostonsailingcentercom
