Port Colborne's Canal Days Brings History to Life with Famous Tall Ships and Family Festivities--from August 3-6, 2007
Canal Days fun includes Tall Ship cruises, Midway Rides, live music, and more.
Port Colborne, Ontario July 27, 2007 -- Parents rejoice! History is fun again. Canal Days (http://www.canaldays.ca/program/) welcomes visitors--from Lake Erie summer vacationers to local day trippers--to celebrate with canal cruises and an array of entertainment that will keep the entire family amused.
The Canal Days festivities center on the Tall Ships that sailed around Niagara Falls (http://www.canaldays.ca/concerts/) getaway, Canal Days
features a variety of activities over four days--from live music to rides. The Canal Days Concert Series includes Spirit of the West on Friday night; David Wilcox on Saturday night; "all
for nothing" on Sunday afternoon; and The Beach Bums on Monday. Kids will enjoy the Haro/Adidas Eyewear Stunt Show at 2 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
On Saturday, August 4th the Niagara Windriders Kitefliers Association welcomes international Kite Clubs to H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park for a colourful Kite Festival. Also at the park, The
15th Annual Ontario's Largest Classic Car Show will display over 300 cars. And on Sunday at 10 p.m. a fireworks show lights up the Welland Canal at 10 p.m.
Throughout the Canal Days festival (http://www.canaldays.ca/contactus/), situated on the Welland Canal
and Lake Erie, annually celebrates the history of the region with a four-day Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival. The festival, which includes cruises on Tall Ships, a Concert Series,
kite festival, car show, and Midway Rides, is designed to offer entertainment for the whole family.
