Gina Harle has been sailing for nearly 30 years and she wants to share her love of sailing through the Windward Islands with anybody, be it sailor, nature enthusiast or city mayor. A longstanding tradition with her family, Harle makes her enthusiasm for boating pretty clear.
We always sail every possible windy day until late into the fall, Harle explained. We'sre always finding something new. With the Windward Islands, each island is different from one
another.
The Windward Islands - which are comprised of Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent, the Grenadines (which is made of Bequia, Mustique, Canoun, Union Island and Mayreau), Carriacou and Grenada - are
a chain of beautifully exotic islands in the Caribbean.
During one such trip, Harle was urged by her friends to start a website focusing on the beauty of the islands. We want to help other people, so they don'st go through what we went
through, she said. We found everything through trial and error.
Launching on May 16th, 2008, www.SailingRUs.com offers several resources for charting trips, boat rentals, luggage and several other key attributes
for having a smooth sailing vacation in the Caribbean.
Looking at the site, Sailing R Us is fully equipped, but Harle plans on adding more resources. What I'sd like to do is to get as many boat chartering companies as possible, she said. I
want our customers to get the best deals. We'sre also going to add airlines and restaurants.
Harle is also searching out resources for Grenada: One of our goals is to go from Saint Lucia to Grenada.
Another new feature for the site is the addition of their blog, www.WindwardIslandSailing.com.
We want to post about where people can visit, where to dine, purchase provisions, how to get from one island to another, how to use the ferries or airlines. We'sll also have currency
rates and the rules and regulations of each island, said Harle.
When Gina Harle speaks about sailing through the Windward Islands, she does so with excitement and passion. There is something magical about the region that she wants to share with
everyone: It'ss the ultimate vacation, Harle said. Windwards are the gem - they'sre better than the British Islands.
