Prime Access Honored with ANA Advertising Award and ADCOLOR Innovator Award

Continuing its award-winning year, Prime Access received two major awards at this week'ss ANA Multicultural Marketing Conference: an ANA Advertising Award and an ADCOLOR Innovator Award for its founder and CEO Howard Buford.

At the ANA Multicultural Advertising Awards, which honor the year'ss best multicultural campaigns, Prime Access was honored with the Best African American Campaign Award for its work on the White House'ss National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign. The advertising, titled Huggin's the Block 's8230; Hard, was produced for the Partnership for a Drug-Free America and was part of the Partnership'ss Above the Influence advertising effort. Huggin's the Block 's8230; Hard uses urban poetry to motivate teens to rethink the use of marijuana. (See below for links to the award-winning television and print advertising).

It'ss an honor for us to receive these distinguished awards alongside so many of our peers that we respect and admire, said Lorraine McNeill-Popper, vice president, executive creative director of Prime Access Inc. It inspires us to keep creating innovative and attention-getting campaigns that both set industry standards and make a positive impact on society.

Separately, Howard Buford, Prime Access founder and CEO, was honored with the prestigious ADCOLOR Innovator Award in recognition of his pioneering work in LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) marketing and advertising. He was one of 21 industry leaders chosen for the 2008 ADCOLOR Awards, a program that honors outstanding diverse professionals in the advertising, marketing and media industries.

The ADCOLOR Awards is presented by the Advertising Club of New York, the Association of National Advertisers, the American Advertising Federation, the American Association of Advertising Agencies and Arnold Worldwide.

This year'ss class of honorees represents such tremendous and inspiring examples of leadership, said Tiffany R. Warren, founder of ADCOLOR. We are extremely thrilled about being able to acknowledge them and build critical mass in the movement to shine a light for others to see.

Warren said Buford was honored for his leadership in making Prime Access one of the nation'ss leading agencies specializing in LGBT marketing. Founded in 1990, Prime Access serves more Fortune 500 companies in the gay market than any other agency and is responsible for some of the most influential LGBT campaigns of the past 15 years.

Buford also recently received the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce'ss Breaking Business Barriers award in recognition of his leadership in multicultural and LGBT marketing.
