A New Midwestern Novelist is Born

May 19, 2005 -- Now available for pre-order from TreeSide Press/EEB Publishing is a debut novel by new South Dakota author Serenity J. Banks.

Entitled The Bleeding Game, this novel explores the dark depths of one man's desire for vengeance against those who have wronged him. The Bleeding Game seeks to answer the question, "What atrocious acts is a man capable of committing once he has passed out of the normal confines of rationality"

The Bleeding Game will be released May 20 as both a trade paperback and as an eBook.

Paul McComas, author of Unplugged, calls this book a "taut, suspenseful debut novel ... a bloody good read."

Banks is the former editor of the Lakota Journal newspaper in Rapid City. She grew up in eastern South Dakota, attending high school in Arlington and South Dakota State University in Brookings. She left the newspaper business this year to return to Brookings County, where she is working as a freelance fiction editor and focusing on her writing.
