SelfPublished Author Annouces Release of First Book Charity Auction

Whitney Moore announces publication of Glitter and Diamonds: The Rise of David Wilde and special fund-raising event on Ebay.

The book deals with the life of fictional character David Wilde as an aspiring singer in 1970's London. Along with a cast of unique and original characters--David's best friend and stylist, Jeremy "Darlene" Mathers who grew up in an all boys catholic school in France, the bands drummer Michele McPherson who has to deal with renewed feelings of depression with their new-found fame, Mick Wilde, the bands guitarist, and Ryan "Willow" Johnson, who David meets at the battle of the bands that changes all of their lives forever.

Although all of the main characters are gay the author doesn't want too much emphasis to be put on that fact. "I want this to be a new kind of book in which even though the main characters are gay the real story is the humanity in all of us," she says.
Whitney Moore wrote Glitter and Diamonds because there are virtually no books based on the glam rock of the seventies "Which was the true origin of the music today."There will be an auction of the first autographed copy of the book on Ebay beginning August fifth and ending a week later to raise money for Women for Women International a charity devoted to helping women in some of the worlds most war ravaged countries gain knowledge and hope for the future. She hopes to raise $10,000 or more.
In addition to the auction she is devoting fifty percent of the royalties to the charity. "I hope this will be a big event and will bring hope to women everywhere," says the writer. "I think as a country we need to have far more awareness to the plight of women who are just trying to survive and raise children in these horrible situations."

Glitter and Diamonds: The Rise of David Wilde is available beginning August.01.05 on http://www.lulu.com/cultureshock and will be available on Amazon later in the year.
