Thomas E Gill Hitches His Star To The Star Publish Galaxy

Star Publish has signed a contract with Thomas E. Gill for the publication of two books, "New Directions in Bible Study" and "New Testament Studies."

"New Directions in Bible Study" describes not only Thomas Gill's essays, but also his aim: to attempt a major innovation in the dating of the New Testament books.

Gill finds evidence for redating New Testament books: Paul's Letter to Galatians after 80, the Gospel of Mark in 120's, and Letter to Hebrews by a Marcionite before 190. Re-dating of New Testament books will result, he believes, in taking Bible Study in New Directions by placing Gnostic writings on an equal footing with those books.

As Gill states, "My essays seek to throw light on several key New Testament books. I give high regard to the writings of Josephus, while I do not regard highly Brown's assessments. The Oral Tradition of Ong (Interfaces p. 271) can now be discarded due to the work of Dennis MacDonald. Oral patterns of composition did not dominate the Gospel of Mark, which had Textual patterns from the Homeric epics."

Thomas E. Gill was born in 1935 and educated in Portland, Ore., where he attended Jefferson High School, PSU, University of Portland, PCC MHCC, and Reed. He holds several Master's Degrees with two of them being in history from PSU in 1976 and BSU in 1990. He also pursued Ph. Ds. in history at the University of Arizona and the University of Idaho. Gill has thirty years of college education.

As an Emersonian Unitarian, he is an avid student of the Bible. Since 1974, he has written essays for "New Directions in bible Study." He will focus next on "New Testament Studies." He is an intellectual with expertise in History, Philosophy, Greek and Roman Classics, Literatures and Literary Criticism. His forte is "allegory".

Star Publish has scheduled "New Directions in Bible Study" and "New Testament Studies" for a fall 2005 release in both trade paperback and e-book.
