Global Talk Radio (http://www.globaltalkradio.com) has just announced its guest list for this week'ss edition of the top-rated internet talk
program, A Story to Tell.
First up, Chester Aaron has published 18 books: fiction and non-fiction, adult and young adult. One of his young-adult novels, An American Ghost, was featured on a 9-minute ABC TV weekend
special. He has also won several wards, including a National Endowment for the Arts grant. His latest publication, a collection of stories titled Symptoms of Terminal Passion, covers
experiences endured over his 83 years of life: war and peace, marriage and divorce, farming and teaching. They vary as much location and style, as they do by the kinds of characters
admired and scorned. Aaron explains to listeners that his stories were written in the peace and quiet of his northern California redwood country. Now, he sits on his deck in the evening,
watching the deer down in the field, wishing his Russian peasant father and Polish peasant mother could see what their son has inherited.
GJ Sydney joins the program from the United Kingdom to tell us about her very personal story. She was born in Australia to a Greek family, speaking only Greek until the age of six. Being
Greek in Australia meant you weren'st Australian; but in Greece you weren'st Greek either. Sydney explains her family was very traditional, so when her spiritual life started to come into
play, she was forced by her family to suppress her opinions, blocking her path to enlightenment. But That'ss Another Story is a bout a lifetime of lessons - some chosen by her, others
that the universe felt she had to learn. She wrote the book for her children to see what struggles she had to go through to get where she is today.
Then are vampires real Well, yes sorta, according to Drew Silver, author of The Vampire Within. In this trilogy, a group of unsuspecting college students sign up to test an experimental
drug that'ss supposed to enhance individual ailments. They get more than they bargained for when they learn that the serum not only enhances their weakness but actually alters their DNA
and mutates them into vampires! Although the story is obviously fiction, Silver believes that we all have some aspect of a vampire within us, wanting the power to control the universe
around us so we can have things our own way.
William Bowman Piper grew up in Kentucky. Both his parents were teachers. He thought he wanted to be a scientist, but he really loved writing and reading, so he became a teacher and
helped students learn to write and to love reading. Now retired, Piper, a published poet, has written numerous articles and several books about English poetry and novels. His latest work
is a children'ss story called Giraffe of Montana.
All four interviews can be heard in their entirety on-demand 24/7 at http://www.globaltalkradio.com/shows/astorytotell.
