Brazilian Publisher Editora Aleph Announces Release of Portuguese Language Translation of HAARP Expos

Jerry E. Smith's "HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy," an in-depth investigation into the United State's controversial High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) has now been released in a Portuguese Language Translation from Editora Aleph of Brazil.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil July 03, 2005 - Adriano Fromer Piazzi announced today that Editora Aleph has begun stocking bookstores across Brazil with American author Jerry E. Smith's "Armas Eletromagnticas" (Electromagnetic Weapons), an in-depth investigation into the United State's controversial High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP).

With a special introduction by the author, translated into Portuguese by William Lagos, "Armas Eletromagnticas: seria o projeto Haarp a prxima ameaa mundial" (Electromagnetic Weapons: will project HAARP be the next world-wide threat) is an up-dated edition of Jerry E. Smith's "HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy."

Originally released in 1998 as a title in The Mind-Control Conspiracy Series by Adventures Unlimited Press of Kempton, Illinois, this work has been a consistent strong seller in the U.S. and Canada. It was also released in a Polish language translation in 2001 by Amber Supermedia as "HAARP: Bron Ostateczna."

"HAARP," Smith said, "is the largest and most powerful Department of Defense (DoD) facility of its kind in the world -- just what kind of facility it is, however, has been the subject of heated debate for over a decade."

The heart of the HAARP program is a, still unfinished, field of antennas in south-eastern Alaska. The government says it is a pure science research station, one intended to increase our understanding of the upper atmosphere. Detractors, like Smith, are not convinced.

Some researchers think HAARP is a prototype for a "Star Wars" weapons system, one with a suite of capabilities, from conducting over-the-horizon radar surveillance, to destroying incoming ICBMs, to frying out the electronics of enemy spy satellites, to disrupting enemy radio communications. Researchers think it might be intended to do these things because those abilities are all described in the original patents that the HAARP antenna array is based on.

"The folks running HAARP, however," Smith points out, "deny any connection between HAARP and those patents. This, naturally, has opened them up to charges of cover-up and conspiracy."

Since mention of HAARP first appeared in the world's press in 1993 many researchers have looked into what HAARP is really intended for. "Some," Smith told us, "have come up with some very strange sounding things!

"Some think it will be used to control the weather, while others say it could be used to set off volcanoes, or trigger earthquakes. Still others see its potential for 'Winning the Hearts and Minds' of our enemies by beaming emotions or commands directly into their brains.

"Some few," He continued, "even speculate that it will be used by the New World Order to take over the world by projecting holographic images into the sky while beaming thoughts directly into our heads, telling us to accept the new 'god' of their design. And still others think it is part of a planetary defense system to protect us from invading aliens from outer space. And there are even wilder ideas about what 'they' want to do with HAARP!

"I began writing my book," Smith went on, "with the intent to sort out truth from fiction in the many claims about what HAARP could or couldn't do. I quickly learned that HAARP was but the tip of a very nasty iceberg. I soon learned more about the down side of electromagnetic and radio frequency technologies than I ever wanted to know. And that things are far worse in the Military-Industrial-Educational Complex than even I, as a "peacenik" from the '60s, imagined.

"My book," he said, "became an examination of two major questions: what is the fundamental flaw in how we fund and conduct science, and how can a democracy defend itself from its own military and covert intelligence agencies"

Jerry E. Smith has been a writer, editor and activist for over three decades. His bibliography of published works includes scores of articles and reviews and two non-fiction books, both from Adventures Unlimited Press (AUP): "HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy" and the soon to be released "SECRETS OF THE HOLY LANCE: The Spear Of Destiny In History & Legend." The later was co-authored with George Piccard, author of "LIQUID CONSPIRACY: JFK, LSD, the CIA, Area 51, AND UFOs" (AUP, 1999). He is a popular radio and TV talk show guest and has lectured across the US and in Nassau, The Bahamas, and Brisbane, Australia.
