Mark Russell Bell is writing "Hollyweird," a book exploring the unexplained and pop culture to offer an account of life lessons in the Hollywood dream factory and beyond. Bell is the
author of "Testament," a case study presented via Q&A interview transcripts, journals and photographs.
Bell writes in the prologue of his new book, "Although I didn't know it then, working as a movie studio publicity writer while in my spare time researching and writing about the
paranormal would provide me with a unique perspective upon finding myself experiencing a bizarre sequence of events beyond anything I'd seen on the screen."
After researching historical 'talking poltergeist' cases, Bell learned about a contemporary family experiencing the phenomena in 1995. After conducting interviews, he agreed to write
about their shared supernatural experiences, culminating with the book "Testament." The family was seen on television in the November 1995 ABC special "Ghosts, Mediums, Psychics: Put To
The Test" and this footage also aired in the summer of 1996 on "20/20." Among the authentic phenomena filmed for the special was a dining room chair moved by an unseen presence.
During his visit to Oklahoma, Bell witnessed the materialization of objects and heard spirit utterances among other startling occurrences. After returning to Los Angeles, the bizarre
events around him continued. The details that he relates enable others to perceive parallels in the lives of such people as Edgar Cayce, Madame Blavatsky and Nostradamus.
The first excerpt from "Hollyweird" was presented in late 2004/early 2005 at the paranormalnews.com website as a headline article entitled "Putting Together The Poltergeist Puzzle." Bell
estimates that his book is about 80% finished. All proceeds from the book will be donated to philanthropic organizations.
"In a startling way, 'Hollyweird' will be an inspirational memoir illuminating how Spirit manifests in unusual ways around certain individuals," comments Bell. "As always, love is shown
to be the highest truth."
Bell has been a guest on more than 20 radio shows to discuss his experiences. These have included "The Dick Farrel Show,"The Edge of Reality,"Ghostly Talk," and "Crustbusting Your Way to
an Awesome Life."
Prior to finding a more spiritual path as metaphysical author, Bell's career in the entertainment industry included working as a talent agent. He later was a staff publicist at Paramount
Pictures and contributed to campaigns for such films as "Braveheart,"Fatal Attraction,"Forrest Gump,"Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade," and several "Star Trek" films. Many of the movies
had paranormal themes, including "Ghost,"Fire In The Sky,"Scrooged,"Dead Again," and "Pet Sematary."
"Readers of 'Hollyweird' will find themselves evaluating perspectives of reality, consciousness and creativity as I chronicle my surprising experiences and find correlations in the lives
of the world's paranormal people," Bell declares. "The manuscript hasn't yet been submitted for publication although I've been in touch with an Australian publisher of spirituality
titles."
Bell's previous book, "Testament," was published on Jan. 9, 1997. The ISBN is 0-9654916-0-9 and the Library of Congress Catalog Number is 96-71184.
