Michael Sweet was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia in 1979. He spent a decade involved in youth politics including a two year post as President of the Nova Scotia Young Liberals. Michael has a Bachelor of Arts in independent studies earned from attending five Canadian universities. He also has a Bachelor of Education. Michael began writing when he entered the teaching profession in 2002. He teaches high school in the faculty of English and Drama.



Not satisfied with the changes he was able to effect in politics Michael turned to writing to influence society. Much of his poetry has a political slant which appeals to the reader to create some type of change. The introduction to the book begins with Sweet borrowing a quote from the film The Dreamers, "A poem is a petition, a petition is a poem." This quite suitably describes a lot of this poets work.



An award winning volunteer, Michael Sweet has made a great impact on his community in many ways, now, his writing will almost certainly do the same.
