New York, NY -- Environmental leader and polar explorer Robert Swan, Broadway Books, and NativeEnergy announced today the launch of the ANTARCTICA 2041 Teachers's Contest, providing U.S. and Canadian teachers the opportunity to win a free trip to Antarctica and join Swan on his 2041 International Antarctic Treaty Expedition (IATE), taking place November 16 - 30, 2009.



On the trip, eighty teachers, students, corporate leaders, and environmental experts from around the world will come together to gain first hand knowledge of Antarctica'ss fragile ecosystems. Weather permitting, travelers aboard the ship will cruise along the Antarctic'ss spectacular ice cliffs or follow whales while they'sre feeding, camp overnight on the Antarctic ice, visit one of the largest gatherings of Gentoo Penguins on the continent, and sail past the infamous Cape Horn, among countless other once in a lifetime experiences.

Why I want to visit Antarctica this November, and how I plan to bring the skills I learn back to my classroom.



One Grand Prize Winner, chosen by October 1, 2009, will win free passage aboard the 2041 IATE, roundtrip airfare to Ushuaia, Argentina, and a signed copy of Swan'ss forthcoming book, the environmental call to action ANTARTICA 2041: My Quest to Save the World'ss Last Wilderness, to be published by Broadway Books on October 27.
