June 1, 2005 -- But the process of change, while overwhelming at times, does offer certain "gifts," says Nancy Christie, author of The Gifts of Change (Beyond Words Publishing, 2004).
"The gifts can be a deeper appreciation of the blessings life holds, a greater understanding of our abilities and stronger conviction that, whatever occurs, we have the strength to not
only survive, but triumph."
With the addition of The Gifts of Change to exchange bookshelves worldwide, Christie hopes to provide encouragement and support to both military personnel and their family members.
"The book is filled with stories of people who have pushed beyond their self-imposed boundaries to find a richer, more meaningful life-thanks to changes that have come into their lives,"
explains Christie. "These personal stories remind readers to look at life events-both large and small-not as problems, but as opportunities for growth and development."
In addition to working on her second book, Christie also hosts workshops and writes for a variety of magazines including All You, Better Homes & Gardens and Military Retailer. She is
currently planning her 2005-06 book tour and is available for both on- and off-base appearances.
