June 3, 2005 -- Legendary artist Jim Warren's latest collaboration with Walt Disney Studios is among 30 new images in his revised book, The Art of Jim Warren, originally released in
2000.
Warren, described as a "living legend" and "An American Original," gained permission from Disney studio executives to paint famous characters like Mickey Mouse and Peter Pan into a series
of limited edition prints.
The Art of Jim Warren also contains more than 35 years worth of unforgettable illustrations and oils, including celebrity commissioned portraits of Martin Sheen and Julliette Lewis and
his Grammy Award-winning illustration of Bob Seger's album Against the Wind.
Many will recognize Warren's signature dreamy images of galloping horses, running water and spiritual mermaids that grace the covers of well-known books, billboards and greeting
cards.
"It's my personal book and it's really the true me," said Warren, 55, of Clearwater, Florida. "I made sure that it truly reflected me."
Unlike other art books, Warren did all the writing and personally chose the 160 works of art (out of 2,000) that appear in beautiful full-colored reproductions.
Warren's latest endeavor is a collaboration with classically trained pianist and composer Oksana Kolesnikova, who recently recorded music inspired by Warren's paintings. The songs will
soon be released on CD.
"Each person sees something different in my paintings that relates specifically to them," said Warren. "That, to me, is what art is all about."
The L.A. Times called Warren "one of the best" and NBC news said, "He truly is a great artist."
The Art of Jim Warren is available at most major bookstores and online at www.jimwarren.com.
