Sysnopsis: stories and poems on themes of human nature, science and God/evolution, predictive fiction based in reality. Several stories could be good for film or TV programmes, either as
story plots or documentary.
The Author also produces commercially available music and several stories have music tracks connected, full details in book appendix.
The content should appeal to practically any age group of readers from aged 10 plus, therefore this book has an appeal for the young adult market. As the stories also have elements of
recent history over the past 50 years they could also have an educational benefit. The style is one of looking back for 50 years, what we can do now and what may transpire over the next
50 years or so.
The first story, Ultimate Union is a projection of what could be a possible future for the European Union and carries a potted history of the organsation and its present situation and its
effects so far. This is then rolled into the near future and shows how the EU could continue to expand to finally encompass the globe! The story is written from the point of view of a
youth in the future, writing an essay.
The title story, humaNatural deals with mankinds quest to understand where he comes from in evolutionary terms, or otherwise and is written from the viewpoint of a genetically enhanced
human being, designed to better able to breathe the polluted air, thus making this new man the saviour of human kind. It is about how such a new human may view himself and the original
human race.
This story attempts to reach aspects of searching for the roots of humanity and poses a question - is the human natural The new man is obviously concerned about his own nature, being a
deliberately created species as a spin-off of the original race and feels he needs to address questions of origination. Further to these themes this story also questions mankinds position
in the animal kingdom.
Is the human race better off for all its technology and intellectualism or is it his own survival threat. Is humanity too clever for his own good and is this a natural phenomenon As the
human is the only animal to be able to maniupulate his own genetic make up is this a natural expectation for an animal species Does such conscious re-creation of his own species turn the
human into God
As a tie-in there is a CD humaNatural by Foy which is instrumental music in dance/new age styles with titles connecting to the main story from the book as well as some of the poems.
The story The Epsilion Advantage has soundtrack type music connected with several tracks with lines taken from the story.
The author has drawn from his experience of life during the post World War 2 period of fast changes. In many ways it is an overview of what it was like to live growing up to the backdrop
of the cold war years, the advent of the space age and the proliferation of the television age.
Many aspects of such things are now treated as modern history and some things, like TV culture, are taken for granted by the younger generations. Because of this some of the books content
may be useful in a school setting as a book for study or discussion in lessons such as history, humanities, releigion and media studies!
The book front cover features art depicting Eve and the apple with snake and the title story tries to show a different insight into the Garden of Eden story from the Bible.
The author has a small music label, YOFF Music, which has released 6 CDs available only in digital download form from sites like www.itunes.com The author is a songwriter with many songs
in many genre and a new member of ASCAP. He intends to write more books in the future as well as carrying on with his music.
