Vincent Cook Actor and Comedian Wins Two Awards For His Portrayal of...

Vincent Cook Actor Comedian won two awards at The Colsac Theater Awards 2006 Annual Awards ceremony.

Vincent Cook Won Best Actor in an One Act Play Award and Vincent Cook also Won Best New Play Write Award. For his One Man show Ali: The Man The Myth The Peoples Champion Winning these awards truly means a great deal to me.



Vincent Cook said after winning the awards. And beating out (one thousand) so many other actors . He went on to say that he love Muhammad Ali and that meeting Ali when he was a very young child. It inspired him to want to be a great fighter which landed him on the United States Boxing Team Winning a Gold Medal and to believe in yourself. Vincent also stated that Muhammad Ali is his hero and the reason he created and co wrote his play with Tony Spires who is also the director on this incredible play, Is he felt that Muhammad Ali stories have never told the whole story of Ali'ss life. And he wanted to show with this play how Ali became a Man what the Myth'ss were about him and how he unknowingly became the peoples champion.



Although Vincent has played in the film version of the Movie Ali as Will Smith boxing double and a principle role as Jimmy Ellis the other Heavy Weight champion from Louisville Kentucky. And loved working with Will Smith and Michael Mann .He still felt that the story was not complete. I trained like a fighter and ate what Ali ate while he was training to become Ali in this play. If your going to be become a person you have to do research. I was able to come up with stories you never heard about or heard little about. When I come to do my play, I am Muhammad Ali and all the other eighteen characters I impersonate to help tell the story. With the music from the 40,s 50,s 60,,s 70,s 80,s 90,s until now the sound track of Ali'ss life. The audiences are blown away with the energy and light I bring with the message from Ali of peace and love Vincent go'ss on to say.



I plan to make this play into a movie. Until then I hope I can get this play at as many Colleges,Universities and theaters as I can through out the United States and abroad. Vincent Cook is quoted.



Vincent Cook is also a well known Comedian having worked on the Black Entertainment Television network for several years. The producers of BET hired him as a star of their show Black Berry Inn and made him the co-host of comic veiw. You can see Vincent Cook in several films as well Baps With Halle Berry , Ali with Jamie Foxx and Will Smtih and in a break out role in the soon to be released film Tears Of A Clown with Don DC Curry and William L. Johnson.



Some of Vincent'ss proudest moments as a comedian were when the late Richard Pryor, Luther Vandross, and Former President of the United States Bill Clinton hand picked him to be their opening acts while out on Tour.



The Colsac Theater Awards also Honored Stevie Wonder with the lifetime Achievement Award.
