Alphalogix, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise software solutions and services, announced today the spin off of its former Advanced Collaboration Products Division as BrightCom. The
new entity, BrightCom, will be focused on delivering best-of-breed integrated conferencing solutions for business customers. BrightCom solutions are designed for use inside the customer's
firewall to eliminate typical reoccurring hosting charges for conferencing services. BrightCom solutions include instant messaging, audio, video, and web conferencing solutions.
BrightCom offers a unique perspective on corporate conferencing solutions by offering a series of products that integrate together to provide clients a more comprehensive set of
conferencing tools with greater ease of use and lower total cost of ownership. "We specialize in creating advanced collaboration and communication products and solutions for business
customers." says President John Mudge. "By offering a full line of conferencing and collaboration tools, we can better service enterprise customers to fulfill their collaboration
requirements." continues Mudge.
BrightCom's CEO, Bob McCandless added, "One of the primary issues with communication tools is that there are varying technologies that do not integrate with each other. For example,
point-to-point video solutions require a dedicated network and are unable to integrate with web conferencing or instant messaging technology. At the same time, current web conferencing
technologies are unable to integrate with telephony solutions which results in users utilizing web conferencing software separately from a conference call system. BrightCom's unique
Integrated Conferencing solutions bring together these disparate technologies into one comprehensive solution."
Integrated Conferencing allows companies to lower their total cost of ownership while still using best-of-breed solutions to provide a unified conferencing system. BrightCom solutions are
designed to be placed inside a customers network as opposed to typical hosted offerings. This strategy eliminates reoccurring hosted service charges and increases the range of features
and security options available to business users.
BrightCom's Integrated Conferencing solutions are divided into four different groups:
Instant Messaging/Awareness
With the enterprise customer in mind, BrightCom has created a set of versatile instant messaging solutions. BrightCom IM solutions provide the security and scalability required in a
corporate environment.
Instant messaging solutions include:
The Versona Instant Messaging System (VIMS) - The Versona Instant Messaging System is a complete client/server application which provides a scalable instant messaging server and an
integrated client designed for the enterprise market. With client software streamed from the server, there is no client-side installation resulting in easier management. VIMS also has the
ability to integrate with third party instant messaging solutions such as AIM, Yahoo Messenger and MSN to provide additional flexibility for the corporate user.
GlobalConnect - GlobalConnect allows companies to connect different instant messaging systems together to form a single instant messaging infrastructure, such as bridging Microsoft Live
Communications Server and IBM/ Lotus Sametime. With GlobalConnect, employees can communicate with each other regardless of the instant messaging system they use.
Web Conferencing
BrightCom's web conferencing products provide enterprise customers with state of the art, feature rich, cross-platform solutions. They include the ability to integrate with video and
audio conferencing technologies to enhance web conferencing far beyond competitive products.
Web conferencing solutions include:
The Visual Collaboration System (VCS) - The Visual Collaboration System is a fully integrated "plug and play" network appliance solution optimized for hosting rich, interactive, live
collaborative meetings via a web browser. Simply plug the unit into your network and you can be hosting a live web conference in just a few minutes. As an integrated hardware and software
solution, the Visual Collaboration System eliminates the deployment time, challenges and costs of server based systems, offers a richer feature set than competing offerings, and
eliminates reoccurring hosting costs.
Video Conferencing
Current Video Conference solutions rely on a dedicated network infrastructure while BrightCom's solutions provide high-resolution, point-to-point video over an enterprises current network
infrastructure. All BrightCom video conferencing products are able to integrate with web and audio conferencing solutions for a truly interactive meeting experience at a fraction of the
cost of traditional solutions.
Products include:
ClearView - BrightCom's ClearView line of products provide state of the art audio and video conferencing. Solutions include offerings for conference room systems and desktop video
conferencing systems. ClearView products offer the unique ability to interconnect high resolution video conferencing between conference rooms and desktop systems as well.
Audio Conferencing
BrightCom's audio conferencing solutions integrate with web and video conferencing products to enhance the meeting experience for users. BrightCom's inside the firewall, integrated
hardware and software solutions, are ideal for providing crisp, clear audio seamlessly integrated with web and video conferencing with no reoccurring hosting charges.
BrightCom provides a comprehensive solution for enterprise collaboration and communication while still providing products that are extremely easy to deploy and maintain. Solutions can be
utilized as stand alone systems or may be used to bridge disparate third-party systems together. With over six years of experience in enterprise conferencing solutions, BrightCom
solutions are deployed worldwide by a wide array of enterprise customers.
