Deputy General Counsel With Ryder System Inc Joins NAMWOLF Advisory Council



May 9, 2005 -- "NAMWOLF is very pleased to welcome Marcia Narine as a new member to our Advisory Council," said Renuka Vishnubhakta, Associate Director of The National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms. "As NAMWOLF grows, we are always looking for people who support our efforts to create greater opportunities for minority and women-owned law firms ."

The NAMWOLF Advisory Council has been established to serve as a consultative and advisory body to provide valuable input to the Board of Directors on matters related to the mission, objectives and goals of the association. In addition, the Advisory Council provides the means for discussing and evaluating NAMWOLF affairs and provides the opportunity for reporting on, exchanging ideas about, and evaluating the activities and programs.

"Many corporations committed to diversity focus their attention on the presence of minorities and women in majority law firms ," notes Ms. Narine. "NAMWOLF's advocacy for law firms that not only employ women and minorities, but are owned and managed by them, adds an important and needed dimension to the discussion of diversity in the legal profession."

Ms. Narine received her B.S. from Columbia University and her J.D. from Harvard Law School. She is a board member with Hands on Miami and a member with the Open Compliance Ethics Group.

The National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (www.namwolf.org) was founded in June, 2001. It is a national trade association comprising a select group of minority and women-owned law firms who exhibit excellence in the legal profession.
