Yahoo Musicmatch Tells 14 Year Old Boy Thanks For theMoney But Dont Expect Any Customer Support
May 20, 2005 -- Last month Michael Tyler, a 14 year old from Boxford, MA, had to reformat his computer's hard drive due to a virus and lost all 50+ songs he had downloaded from Yahoo's Musicmatch.
According to Michael, "I know a lot of people my age that don't even pay for the songs they download over the web. I'm begin honest and according to my parents, doing the right thing. I can't believe Yahoo Musicmatch won't help me get my songs back. All the songs that I have purchased are listed in my account, Yahoo Musicmatch can see that I paid for these songs, they just don't want to bother"
Michael's mother, Kathleen A. Tyler questions Yahoo's ability to be successful in the online music business. According to Kathleen, "I don't think the new Yahoo Monthly Music subscription business will be very successful if they can't or won't provide basic customer support for exising customers. We certainly won't be subscribers, we will however check out competitive services".
