Cheezhead Blog Launches Banner Ad Network for Recruiting Industry

Award-winning blog Cheezhead.com has launched a banner advertising network for the recruiting industry. Similar to Google's popular AdSense product, publishers place code on their site, which rotates traditional graphic ads for site visitors. Publishers, which will consist primarily of bloggers, receive payments each month via PayPal.

Joel Cheesman, Cheezhead Founder and President, said the ad network is designed to help HR-related vendors plug into a variety of relevant sites in an "easy, one-stop shop format."

"Advertising options are largely numerous, confusing, and fragmented for vendors," Cheesman said. "The Cheezhead Advertising Network hopes to relieve some of those issues."

Current advertisers include applicant tracking solution iCIMS and background check provider employeescreenIQ.

Blogs in the network currently include:

Sourcing strategist and blogger Jim Stroud said, "I jumped at the chance to be a part of the network because I knew good things were about to happen. 'His Cheeziness' has always been on the edge of the whole 2.0 thing."

Fellow blogger Laurie Ruettimann of PunkRockHR.com added, "It's a win/win situation for both bloggers and advertisers. I know that the ads placed on my blog will be relevant to my leadership. The advertisers know that my readers are engaged and interested in their products. No one is trying to sell fake pharmaceutical drugs or sketchy weight loss products on my blog."

Publishers will receive 50 percent of the revenue each month. For advertisers, the current price is $20 CPM and the can pick-and-choose which sites to utilize or select the run-of-network options. To be considered as a publisher, sites must be industry specific and receive at least 5,000 pageviews per month.
