International Golf Courses to be Issued Certified Carbon Credits by...

Environmental Business Solutions announces global initiative for Golf Courses, Turf Farms and Race Courses at The 24th Australian Turfgrass Conference. Mr. Terry Muir, Managing Director of Environmental Business Solutions, which provides an Environmental Management Solution (E-PAR) (http://www.epar.com.au/) to International Golf Courses, Turf farms and Race Courses, announced today that their company had now achieved certification of its systems to international standards.

Mr. Muir advised, "In achieving this certification standard it will enable our E-PAR solution to audit and certify golf courses. This will mean we can not only calculate their CO2 emissions but we can also calculate their carbon offsets or credits they are generating."

Mr. Muir advised that Environmental Business Solutions had been part of the AUSINDSTRY COMET Program and has been fortunate to achieve their assistance in making E-PAR (http://www.epar.com.au/) a truly global solution for Environmental Management.

In making the announcement at The 24th Australian Turfgrass Conference in Melbourne today, Mr. Muir advised he was not surprised by the amount of interest in carbon credits and carbon offsets by the industry. "The industry has been at the leading edge of environmental best practices for many years, they can now start to achieve the recognition of their efforts by generating internationally recognised carbon credits."

"We believe in a very short period of time we will have a pooled carbon exchange with millions of carbon credits that can sold to groups such as the World Banks Carbon Finance Unit," Muir continued.

In July 2007, Professor Bob Carrow advised in a US Golf Association study that E-PAR is recognized as the most advanced program applying Environmental Management Solution concept to golf course in the world.
