Madison business, J & J Mailing Services, and its President Jeff Bauer, were showcased as an example of what a business can accomplish by working with the Postal Service and a Postal
Customer Council by Anita Bizzotto, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of the United States Postal Service during a national coast-to-coast satellite broadcast that
aired Wednesday, September 14. The broadcast was seen in over 200 cities across the country during national Postal Customer Council Day. The broadcasts main topic was the future of the
United States Postal Service and the value of mail to small businesses across America.
Bauer started J & J Mailing Services, located at 313 W Beltline Highway, in 2002 and the company has grown over 150% in just two years. They are looking forward to another record year
in 2005. Starting with a few pieces of used mailing equipment and one owner/employee, in slightly over two years the business has grown to two full-time employees, two part-time employees
and a sales representative. The company specializes in working with companies that do not have in-house mail operations or that want to outsource their mail operations. J & J offers a
variety of mail services including bulk mail preparation, address list management, print-to-mail processes for documents and direct mail and mail presort for postage savings. They also
offer a number of support services to mailers to make their mail operations and advertising efforts better, faster, less expensive and maximize their effectiveness.
Postal Customer Councils are a network of business and nonprofit mail users with more than 120,000 members nationwide. The Greater Madison Area Postal Customer Council has about 2500
members. Members meet several times a year to network with the Postal Service and work on common mail issues.
National Postal Customer Council Day celebrates the work of Postal Customer Councils. This year it featured a speech by Bizzotto and USPS Postmaster General Jack Potter and included a
series of awards recognizing outstanding service and individual achievement. Over 800 people were on-hand in Madison at the Madison West Marriott for the national broadcast. This was the
first time the broadcast originated in Madison. More information on Postal Customer Councils and National PCC Day can be found at www.usps.com/nationalpcc.
