Lenard Robinson to Highlight Zero Waste Conference

The Inland Empire's Leonard Robinson, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's appointed Chief Deputy Director for the Department of Toxic Substance Control, will be a presenter and guest speaker at the California Resource Recovery Association's 31st annual conference.

The event runs from July 29 through August 1 at the Doubletree Hotel in San Pedro, California. Its objective is to "challenge attendees to chart a course in the direction of zero waste and climate cooling practices."

Robinson, a state leader in toxic waste and other environmental issues, is often chosen as a keynote speaker for numerous conferences, seminars, panels and business gatherings centering on waste disposal alternatives and elimination of toxic substances from our environment.

On Tuesday, July 31, he will be leaving his Sacramento office to address the success of the California Take It Back! Partnership from 12:45-2:45 as part of the "E/Partnerships for Sustainability" session. The partnership is a program Robinson directs to encourage the state's major businesses to establish convenient disposal sites that accept household hazardous waste. Such major firms as Wal-Mart and Ikea are already on the bandwagon.

As conference program chairwoman Julie Muir, ably put it, "You demonstrate the knowledge, leadership and vision to effectively navigate through the resource and recycling industry trade winds. We know your expertise will steer the conference attendees to 'navigate to zero waste."

Robinson is available as a speaker for proceedings relating to Toxic Substance Control and e-waste.For more information about the Department of Toxic Substance Control or to book Robinson as a speaker call (916) 324-2471.
