March 8, 2005 -- The National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR) has elected Tracy Brown as President-Elect. Ms. Brown is President of Diversity Trends LLC., a
Dallas-based consulting firm. In 2003 and 2004 she served NAAAHR as the national Vice President of Membership. When asked about her new role, Ms. Brown said, "I am really looking forward
to working with the other officers of the board to develop a fresh approach to serving our members."
The focus of NAAAHR is to serve as a network, resource and forum for African American Human Resource professionals. Membership in the organization is open to any HR professional, line
manager, consultant or student working in or studying the field of HR and affiliated disciplines. When asked about local chapters, Brown said, "Our Dallas chapter is one of our strongest
chapters and I'm proud to represent North Texas on the national Board." The Dallas chapter of NAAAHR meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 11:30am.
Many NAAAHR members are also active in SHRM, the OD Network, ASTD and other professional associations. They find that NAAAHR provides a value-added resource for professional and personal
development.
NAAAHR was formed by a coalition of seventeen local organizations of African American Human Resource professionals from many cities across the country. The organization was officially
chartered in September 1998. There are now more than 24 chapters nationwide.
