Television and Film Studio Opening in South Carolina

Atlas Worldwide Syndications and Distributions, Inc. through its President and owner Akim Anastopoulo is pleased to announce that construction and renovation is complete on their new 4 stage 3 acre site located in downtown Hollywood, South Carolina (approximately 6 miles outside of Charleston, South Carolina). This 7-8 million initial investment project will be a state-of-the-art-project which will officially open August 1, although it is already being used for pre-production activities like auditions and set-building. The facility is equipped with one of the best HD camera packages in the State. The renovating phase will begin during the second phase and will include an additional 20,000 square foot sound stage. This will be the largest studio in South Carolina and has already been receiving reservations to rent stages in the studio.

The Hollywood project arose after Akim Anastopoulo saw a market opportunity in South Carolina's shortage of studio production space. "I saw a lot of production in South Carolina filming in warehouses or abandoned buildings, which is not appropriate for sophisticated television," says Akim Anastopoulo, President of Atlas Worldwide Syndications and Distribution. Akim Anastopoulo stars as "Extreme Akim" in the nationally syndicated television show Eye for an Eye. The show also airs in over 40 countries. "I am pleased and excited that Atlas chose to develop its production facility in the Charleston area," said Film Commissioner Jeff Monks. "Creating industry infrastructure like this is critical to South Carolina's continuing development of the film and television industries within our state."
