In early July, Freya'ss Bower, an erotica and romance ebook publisher, released its first book, Honeysuckle and Wild Roses by Zinnia Hope, in the Goddess Freya series to resounding
success and has opened a call for submissions to authors interested in writing this type of material.
The Goddess Freya series has garnered a lot of interest from many writers. As the editor-in-chief, Marci Baun, and her managing editor, Faith Bicknell-Brown, are both well read in the
Freya myths and legends, they are sticklers for accurate research. I want Freya to be integral to the plot. It'ss more interesting when she is, said Ms. Baun, but we also want authors to
be creative. While Freya may be a Norse goddess, there is no reason why the story can'st be set in Roman times or even science fiction. Just be true to the time. No cell phones in
Napoleonic France, please. While this is fiction, but we still want correct information.
When submitting, please include Goddess Freya (Title of Piece) in subject line.
When Zinnia Hope began her Daughter of Trinity series, Ms. Baun and Ms. Bicknell-Brown saw this as an opportunity to create a series similar to the Dungeons & Dragons in that they
wouldn'st limit the authorship to just Zinnia. There will only be six books total in this series, three of which will be written by authors other than Ms. Hope. Any the authors interested
in trying their hand at this series will have to be familiar with it first.
Books II, III, and IV will focus on one daughter only. References can be made to the other sisters, but physical appearance, personality, etc. of the remaining sisters is not to be
described or created so that the next author can write his or her own.
The daughters are:
Enigma's8212;representing the Faeries.
Loilati's8212;representing the Mortals.
Unne's8212;representing the Deities.
I'sm excited at the possibility of working with other authors. Not to write anything for them, of course, but just to ensure they stay true to the world, said Ms. Hope about other authors
picking up where she left off on the Daughters of Trinity.
Interested writers should include Daughters of Trinity in the subject line. Be specific about which daughter they want to write about. A writing sample of no more than two thousand words,
bio, publication history, and an outline and proposal of their novel idea should be pasted into the body of the email.
Although we are still months away from Halloween, there'ss no reason why we can'st start preparing for it now, Ms. Baun said in response to a question asking why they wanted Halloween
submissions now. Besides, it can take a couple of months just to edit manuscripts. Think werewolves, vampires, witches, and other scary monsters. Any time period, any cross genre as long
as the plot revolves around lycanthropy or vampirism. Of course, knowing what Freya'ss Bower won'st accept is important, so please read our submission guidelines.
Freya'ss Bower will only take a certain number of Bites length (two stories totaling together no less than 6000 and no more than 8000 words that are linked by a theme, character name,
etc.) Be sure to include Halloween submission in the subject of your email.
Their Valkyrie series is similar to the Goddess Freya in that Freya'ss Bower still requires the author to know the history behind the Valkyries and be well researched. As the Internet has
a lot of great info on this topic, it'ss fairly simple to research, said Ms. Bicknell-Brown. I find this series particularly intriguing as the Valkyries can live anywhere and in any time
period, watching places and people where there is unrest and war, and they don's8217;t have to be human. The possibilities are endless. However, we want category novels or longer for this
series.
Freya'ss Bower has said that if an author wants to write for this series but draws a blank for a plot idea, they keep a list of cool plot ideas to help the author devise a great
novel.
When submitting, please include Valkyrie and Title of Piece in the subject line.
Any questions can be directed to Marci Baun, their editor-in-chief.
