iVina Announces BulletScan S300 Document Scanner



iVina, Inc., is pleased to announce its faster and more accurate BulletScan S300 duplex color sheetfed scanner with detachable mobile scanner: 2-Scanners-in-1. The BulletScan S300 is not only a USB-powered duplex mobile scanner but it also transforms into a business class sheetfed scanner with an automatic document feeder (ADF) when placed into its patented docking station. At scanning speeds up to 30 images per minute in color at 200dpi, it is the fastest sheetfed scanner under $350. iVina has integrated the ABBYY optical character recognition (OCR) engine into its scanner to produce documents with unmatched accuracy.



The BulletScan S300 is the perfect scanner in the office, on the road or at home, said Murray L. Dennis, President and CEO of iVina. For the first time, both mobile professionals as well as office workers, have a single scanner that serves their primary and secondary requirements for serious scanning. The BulletScan S300 scans business cards, receipts, ID cards, photos or documents up to legal-sized; converts the scanned files into PDF, searchable PDF, JPEG, and TIFF files (among others); and stores, prints or emails them, all in one step through its BulletScan Manager software.



The BulletScan Manager software offers a choice of easy or advanced mode for configuration, allowing both the novice and power user intuitive control over their scanning. The BulletScan Manager provides everything needed to control the scanning process, file formats, and scan-to-destinations. Features such as auto-straighten, auto-crop, auto-rotate, and edge clean-up are included as the default settings in easy mode and can be fine-tuned in advanced mode.



Powered by ABBYY FineReader Technology, the BulletScan S300 offers unmatched optical character recognition accuracy. This is the same technology used for ABBYY FineReader Desktop OCR, voted 4-stars by PC Magazine, 2009. The FineReader linguistic technology enables the BulletScan S300 with auto-language detection for no-hassle scanning, OCR and conversion. The FineReader Technology included in the BulletScan S300 will OCR documents in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. ABBYY'ss OCR Engine also supports output to PDF/A, retaining text-under-image, text-over-image and text and picture, or image only PDFs. ABBYY'ss R's38;D leadership in layout analysis and format retention is unrivalled, delivering PDF results truer to the original scan.



When the BulletScan S300 detachable mobile scanner is docked into its integrated automatic document feeder, it scans up to 30 images per minute in color at 200 dpi. When undocked, the S300 will scan an 8.5 x 11 document in under 5 seconds. The BulletScan S300 is Microsoft 7 Windows compliant, and comes with TWAIN and WIA drivers. The scanner is supported by iVina'ss U.S. based technical support and customer service teams, and includes a one-year manufacturer'ss warranty.



The BulletScan S300 scanner will be available in late November through national resellers. Customers may also order additional BulletScan S300 ADF docking stations for their home or homes away from home. With a second ADF docking station, users only need to carry their BulletScan S300 mobile scanner between their work and home offices to enjoy the benefits of a business class duplex scanner with a 20 page ADF capacity.
