SBLI USA Mutual Life Insurance Celebrates First Anniversary of Buffalo Customer Center with Back to Basics Events and Donation to Local Food Bank
May 12, 2005 -- SBLI USA Mutual Life Insurance Company, Inc., a financial services company committed to the financial empowerment of all people, will celebrate the first anniversary of its Buffalo Customer Center with two "Back-to-Basics" events and a $5,000 donation to the Food Bank of Western New York.
The donation will be presented to the food bank on Thursday, May 12th, at a "Back to Basics" reception at The Mansion on Delaware Avenue from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Following the reception, on Thursday May 19th from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., SBLI USA will host a free "Back-to-Basics" Personal Finance and Life Insurance Education Seminar for the general public.
"The 'Back-to-Basics' reception and Personal Finance and Life Insurance Education Seminar are our way of saying 'Thank You' to the Buffalo community for their welcome and support since the opening of our Customer Center in the Walden Galleria Mall last May," said Clifford Miller, chairman of the board of directors at SBLI USA and president and CEO of Ulster Savings Bank. "We came to Buffalo with a strong customer base of 30,000, and through the Center have been able to build on these relationships and forge new ones to help empower the people of Western New York."
According to the Food Bank of Western New York, each month 100,000 Western New Yorkers - forty percent of whom are children - turn to soup kitchens, food pantries and other emergency food providers to combat hunger. The Food Bank of Western New York acts as a bridge between available food sources and the hungry, providing approximately one million pounds of product to five hundred charitable programs that feed the needy in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara Counties.
"We would like to thank SBLI USA for recognizing our need, and making a timely donation of $5,000, which will enable us to feed close to 3,400 families that otherwise would go hungry," said Clem Eckert, President & CEO of the Food Bank of Western New York.
The "Back to Basics" Personal Finance and Life Insurance Education Seminar on May 19th will be led by SBLI USA Customer Center Manager Michael Hrabovsky and Assistant Manager Lynette Gott in the Walden Galleria Mall's Community Room, located on the upper level near JC Penney. Refreshments will be provided. People interested in attending the Personal Finance Educational seminar should call 1-866-272-2226 to reserve their spot.
"The 'Back-to-Basics' seminar gives us a forum where we can share our knowledge and expertise on life insurance with members of the community," said Mr. Hrabovsky. "The information we offer will get people to think and ask questions about their own situations and help them along on their financial planning journey."
