The NAILM Offers Two Online Seminars Litigation Management

June 25, 2005 -- On July 12th and July 27th, the NAILM will sponsors two timely and interesting online seminars, announced Quintin L King, the NAILM's new President and CEO.

The first of these, "A Uniform Task Based Management System Stakeholder Solutions Group Interactive Session", will be moderated by John Kelly, Dean and Chief Knowledge Officer of the Kelly Institute (www.kellyinstitute.com)

Kelly is also author of: The Litigation Management Scorecard E-Billings Management-ALA Management Encyclopedia. This seminar will explore such issues as:
- Where did these "task codes" come from
- Why does the UTBMS Litigation Code Set label include the
word "System"
- Why are they so critical to e-billing
- How does the UTBMS Litigation Code Set add value to insurance
defense litigation management
- How do they fit into the Defense Research Institute's (DRI's)
Recommended Case Handling Guidelines for Insurers and insurance
defense attorneys
- What are the UTBMS updating and internationalization initiatives all about
- Is there a need for insurance litigation managers and insurance
defense attorneys to develop a dedicated UTBMS "Insurance litigation Code Set"

The Second seminar, co-sponsored by the Westfield Insurance Group, is an encore presentation of the popular seminar, "In Defense of Technology: A Model for Managing and Collaborating with Outside Defense Counsel" and will take place on the 27th of July and is also an online seminar.

The Seminar leader for this seminar will be Daniel Winkler, Director of Claims/Legal Support, for the Westfield Group of Insurance Companies.

This seminar will examine an initiative that:
- Leverages partnering opportunities with outside counsel in order to restore trust and enhance the overall relationship between counsel and client;
- Identify best business practices and best business partners in the litigation management arena;
- Fosters open, informed dialogue with outside counsel from matter
assignment through disposition;
- Enable effective feedback to law firms, collaboration around budgets and case assessments, and the consistent application of litigation and billing guidelines;
- Allow for firm over firm comparative reports in order to support a very progressive law firm partnering model.

Both seminars are free for NAILM members.
