Food as Medicine Yes Cancer Conqueror Offers Food for Thought on the...

Cancer patients and their families will be interested to learn about the cancer/nutrition connection in five upcoming free teleseminars, presented by wellness expert and author Greg Anderson. Anderson is a 20-year survivor of a 30-days-to-live lung cancer diagnosis and founder of Cancer Recovery Foundation, whose mission is to help people prevent and survive cancer.

Refusing to accept the hopelessness of his doctor's prognosis, Anderson went searching for people who had lived even though their doctors had told them they were "terminal." Hear his findings from interviews with more than 16,000 cancer patients including in-depth surveys of survivors' diets and nutritional practices. Eight out of ten survivors interviewed made self-described "major" shifts in dietary and nutritional practices. Food was viewed as part of a total treatment plan.

Anderson has devoted his life to helping cancer patients and their families across the globe learn how to prevent and survive cancer. He is the author of several acclaimed books, including The Cancer Conqueror and the international best seller The 22 (Non-Negotiable Laws) of Wellness.

Cancer Recovery Foundation is the largest non-profit organization that focuses on the "people side" of cancer. The Foundation does not underwrite cancer research or medical treatments. It emphasizes a whole-person approach to getting well again, pioneering the "cancer survival pyramid," a tool widely used in cancer education.

Greg Anderson will hold five one-hour teleseminars entitled "Cancer: Food as Medicine" on Thursdays, August 18, September 1, September 15, September 29 and October 14, 2005 at 8:30 p.m. Eastern/7:30 p.m. Central/5:30 p.m. Pacific. Topics include the Cancer Recovery Meal Plan, Specific Cancers and Nutrition, Choosing and Cooking Healthy Foods, Nutritional Supplementation and Nutritional Strategies Before, During and After Surgery.

This program is for anyone going through the cancer journey. Patients, family members, support people and healthcare professionals will find this information and inspiration immensely valuable.
