Funds Raised by CANIDAE for Pet Charity at AKC Meet the BreedsEvent...



CANIDAE Pet Foods, Inc. (www.canidae.com), a manufacturer of all natural holistic pet foods that are fed and recommended by thousands of certified breeders and rescue organizations throughout North America, attended the American Kennel Club Meet the Breeds event held October 17-18, 2009 at the Javits Center in New York City. The event, which hosted over 36,000 people, saw the participation of nearly 200 dog clubs and cat councils.



CANIDAE sponsored a booth at the event where representatives handed our free product samples and coupons, and sold raffle tickets to help raise funds for cancer research in pets. The grand prize winners, Jeffrey Ruggirello and Jake Cohen, both of New York City, each won a Felt X-City 5 bicycle, valued at $500. The X-City-5 is designed for urban riding and is fun to ride no matter what type of abuse the streets dish out.



These charity raffles are always a big hit with pet owners and we love being able to help a good cause and have fun at the same time. The people at the AKC Canine Health Foundation are committed to advancing cancer research in pets so we'sre very proud to support them, said Dennis VanEtten, CANIDAE Sales Manager.



As part of its continuing mission to foster Responsible Pet Ownership and help animals in need, CANIDAE donated the bicycles to the raffle which allowed 100% of the proceeds to be delivered to the American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation.



Meet the Breeds, largest event of its kind in the world, is an annual showcase where pet lovers learn about the joys of pet ownership and are able to witness the diversity of breeds in a welcoming atmosphere. In addition to various pet products, the event showcased five ongoing demonstration rings, and nearly 200 individually decorated breed booths where the public interacted with dogs, cats, puppies and kittens and learned about their history and unique attributes directly from the experts. Each space was decorated to reflect the breed'ss heritage, characteristics and unique attributes as a pet.
