The Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop-University Hospital celebrated its move to a new home. Over 200 patients old and new along with their families gathered to form a Life Line, or bridge, from the old location at 200 Old Country Road to the new Center at 120 Mineola Boulevard, suite 460. A heart shaped pillow with the Center'ss logo was passed from person to person signifying the transfer of love, caring, and compassion that are the hallmarks of the Center.
This was an unbelievable event, said Linda Sweeney, the practice manager for the Cancer Center. Our mission is to treat the entire family. Some patients and families were actually kissing
the pillow as they passed it.
Dr. Weinblatt Chief, Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Director, Cancer Center for Kids (http://www.winthrop.org/cck) stated: We are
very excited about this beautiful, state-of-the-art facility where we can continue to provide exceptional care for children with cancer and blood disorders. This center will go a long way

with licensed cartoon characters, making the center warm, inviting and upbeat. The support of Winthrop-University Hospital and our patient population has been nothing short of outstanding
