Voltaix Increases Trimethylboron Capabilities

Voltaix, LLC, a leading manufacturer of electronic chemicals for the semiconductor and photovoltaic industries, today announced a significant increase in trimethylboron manufacturing capacity.

Trimethylboron, a stable boron source, is a key material for the product ion of thin film solar cells. To support the rapid growth of this emerging industry, Voltaix has increased their trimethylboron manufacturing capacity significantly utilizing their established solvent-free process. The product specifications for oxygen and other key contaminants have also been improved to insure that the product will continue to meet the performance requirements of the solar industry.

"TMB is particularly well suited for solar process deposition applications because it has a superior thermal stability relative to more conventional boron sources. We have also significantly improved the levels of contaminants in the product to insure that TMB will continue to provide superior electrical properties in next generation solar processes", said Mike Pikulin, Voltaix Senior Vice President.
