KidsArts Week NY



Gala on Monday, August 21, 2006 at the Children's8217;s Museum of the Arts in New York City at which time we will highlight some of the young artists from our Express Yourself Art Contest and have live performances by both West 8 Five and Saddiyah Rock.

On both Tuesday and Wednesday, we will feature some of our performers at City Center, home of the White Plains Performing Arts Center, one of this year's8217;s Beneficiaries and at Rennaissance Plaza. Syracuse will be hosting a youth talent showcase through the Gifford Foundation, which is another one of this year's8217;s Beneficiaries. KidFest, our day long outdoor festival will be on Friday, August 25 at The Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park section of Brooklyn Bridge Park under the tent in the Tobacco Warehouse, the perfect venue for inspiring performances by the Creative Outlet-Dance Theatre of Brooklyn, Drumadics, Joneeba's8217;s African Dance Troupe, and much more! The other main feature in Brooklyn that day will be the Kids Arts Week Youth Talent Showcase; the purpose of which is to promote local talent among today's8217;s youth in the New York area.

The culmination of the week's8217;s events will be StyleRocks at Avalon in Manhattan, normally one of New York's8217;s hottest nightspots, hosted by Camille McDonald of America's8217;s Next Top Model Cycle 2. StyleRocks encourages children to 's8220;strut their stuff's8221; in a fashion show through music and movement while wearing 20 of today's8217;s 's8220;hottest's8221; lines including: Le Tigre, Baby Phat, the Gap, XOXO and several other designers. Children, parents and audience members alike will also be treated to LIVE performances by Sony recording artist Keisha Chante, Bazooka bubblegum's8217;s spokespeople, Tha Heights, West 8 Five, DJ Jus, Miss NANA, Boxie, Kayo and so much more!

Kids Arts Week NY is the must attend family event of the summer! Proceeds from the event will benefit existing organizations that backs the ideals set forth by the organizers of this event; that it is compulsory for all of us to continue to maintain a foundation of support for our youth and the arts.
