Moore Colson Devotes a Day to Help Local Underprivileged Children

May 6, 2005 -- Atlanta based Moore Colson committed its entire staff for a day of Community Involvement with local Children's organization, Feed My Lambs.

Feed My Lambs is a pioneer organization founded in 1982 in Atlanta. Feed My Lambs' mission is to provide tuition-free, Christian preschools in impoverished areas to empower at-risk children spiritually, academically, physically and socially; to impact families and communities. There are 5 schools in Georgia, 2 in Africa, and 1 in Mexico currently operating. Another school in Mexico is being built.

Moore Colson Staff divided into teams to visit five different Feed My Lambs locations in the Atlanta area, including their headquarters in Marietta, Georgia. Armed with shovels, paint brushes, garden tools and gloves, Moore Colson staff members left the office around 8:30a.m. to lend a hand with some much needed chores. Many completed projects including painting the main office, yard work and assembling bicycles. But a few teams were able to spend the day interacting with the children by reading stories, making crafts, preparing breakfast and lunch as well as having some fun at the nearby playground. Each year Moore Colson devotes a day to a community involvement project.

"I think I was the lucky one today, says Robin Kelley, Moore Colson Director of Marketing. To be a part of these children's lives for just one day was personally so very rewarding for me."

"This was an excellent opportunity to help out a great organization, while building stronger relationships with others in the firm," says Justin Shaver, a new Moore Colson Associate.

"The learning experience, attention and opportunities Feed My Lambs offers these very special children is tremendous. We are very proud to be associated with an organization such as Feed My Lambs," says Leah Manderano, Moore Colson event organizer.

In addition to community involvement day, Managing Partner Greg Colson and Senior Partner Bob Kiser participated in the 4th annual Feed My Lambs "Golfing for Underprivileged Children in Georgia" Golf Tournament. Proceeds from the golf tournament will go to benefit Feed My Lambs ministry, to provide tuition free Christian pre-school for children living in poverty areas. The event will also bring support to the recently opened schools in Georgia, and also provide food, clothing and Christian education to hundreds of children in the metro Atlanta area.
