Let the Bidding Begin



Global Traveler magazine is preparing to kick off its annual online charity auction. The auction benefits Pencils For Kids, Inc.; 100 percent of the proceeds go directly toward supplying school supplies to children in third-world countries. Bidding begins Sunday, March 15.



Items up for bid include airline tickets, hotel stays, rounds of golf and other products. Both international and domestic airlines and hotels have generously donated prizes. Hot ticket items include round-trip business-class tickets on Singapore Airlines, golf at Trump National, stays at three Corinthia properties, a stay at the Beverly Hilton, a stay at the Kerry Centre Hotel in Beijing, business-class tickets on TAP Portugal, business-class tickets on Swiss International Airlines and much more.



We are honored to help support Pencils For Kids, Inc. I serve on the board of directors for the charity. Pencils For Kids is dedicated to helping children in third-world countries attend school. Many of these children would never have the opportunity to do so without the help of Pencils For Kids. The donations this year are really fantastic and I am very pleased to be associated with those who donated to this worthy cause, said Francis X. Gallagher, publisher and CEO of Global Traveler.
