There are many ways to grow, change and live a life, writes Zsal's233; in her new book, Many Faces of Family: Las Muchas Caras de la Familia / Les Plusieurs Visages de la Famille (published by AuthorHouse).
Written in a multi-lingual format using English, French and Spanish text, Many Faces of Family is appropriate for children aged 2 to 8 and features full-color illustrations. Zsal's233;
recognized what she calls an international need for a light-hearted story discussing changes in home life and wrote Many Faces of Family to help children understand divorce, separation,
estrangement and other different family dynamics that exist outside of a typical nuclear family unit. Because the book is written in three languages, it is ideal for children from
different cultures and backgrounds.
Many Faces of Family tells the story of four cousins spending a day at the beach. While exploring the rocky shore, they encounter a friendly talking crab who shares with them a secret a
wise old fish shared with him from deep below the waves:
It'ss okay, if the meaning of family has to shift. As the tides continue to move, life will as well; Mommy and Daddy will always be Mother and Father. We each have lots of love all around
us, even in times of change. Papa, Grandma, Aunties, Uncles, teachers and friends will remain the constant 's8230; ones who reach out simply to give love with no obligations or
exceptions.
Mr. Crab passes along his knowledge to the children, teaching them that change is inevitable and how to deal with those changes in a healthy manner. It'ss okay to have different feelings,
the crab says. Frustration, hurt, sadness 's8230; work through such emotions, let them out 's8230; remember, the sunrise welcomes each day no matter how different it is from the last.
Zsal's233; was raised among mixed cultures, religions and neighborhoods. A divorced mother, she holds degrees from San Francisco University and the Academy of Art. Zsal's233; traded in
her city lifestyle for a tropical one when she relocated to Florida'ss coast. Living on the beach enables her to share her son, Maverick, with nearby family and expose him to a Caribbean
influence. Many Faces of Family: Las Muchas Caras de la Familia / Les Plusieurs Visages de la Famille is her first book.
