Mompreneur wins 2009 Innovations Design and Engineering Award from...

- The Consumer Electronics Association has named the iHearSafe's174; Safe Volume's8482; Headphones a 2009 Innovations Design and Engineering Award Honoree. The Innovations award will be presented to Christine Ingemi, the inventor, at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show, held in Las Vegas from January 8th-11th. This award is in recognition of Ingemi'ss pioneering design of an innovative new product in the audio industry.

When Ingemi, a mother of four children, could hear the music from her kid'ss mp3 player in the driver'ss seat of her van, over the noise of the radio, she knew something had to be done. Concerned for the safety of her children'ss hearing, but not wanting to take their mp3 players away, Ingemi scoured the market for a device that would limit its audio output to a safe level for growing kids. She found nothing. There was no product on the market that would allow her children to listen to their music responsibly. Deciding that this void in the market was unacceptable, Ingemi invented the award-winning, patent-pending iHearSafe's174; Safe Volume's8482; Headphones and Earbuds. Working from her New Hampshire home, in between teacher conferences and dentists appointments, Ingemi found manufacturers and industry professionals to help her make this product a reality for other concerned parents.

No more having to yell, Turn it down, turn it down, turn it down!

With the iHearSafe product line, there is no software to download and no parental controls are necessary. The volume limiter is physically built into the wiring- it cannot be removed--so no matter how loudly your child sets the volume on his or her mp3 or DVD player, the volume is automatically limited to a safe level of 85 decibels or lower. The American Speech-Language- Hearing Association (ASHA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) guidelines all state that noise-induced hearing loss in children can begin at above an 85 decibel threshold. The iHearSafe technology ensures your child never reaches that point. Many parents enjoy the plug and play convenience offered by the device and the family-friendly price of just $19.99- $24.99. So there'ss no more need to damage your vocal cords instructing your children to stop damaging their ears.

iHearSafe, LLC has changed the industry'ss thinking on protecting hearing from controlling the device to actually controlling the volume--regardless of device.

Ingemi and her iHearSafe technology have been recognized nationally by David Pogue from the New York Times and CNBC and by Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple. iHearSafe products have been featured on the History Channel'ss Modern Marvels- Invent Now Challenge and on CNBC'ss The Big Idea with Donnie Deutsch as well as in Parenting Magazine.

The iHearSafe's174; line of products, including the award winning Safe Volume's8482; Headphones, are available for purchase at the company'ss website, www.ihearsafe.com or by phone at 603.693.6001. Holiday Specials will run from now through December 31st, 2008.
