MyPacifier.com and Their MyPacifier Personalized Pacifiers Participate...

#8211; Mommy-invented MyPacifier's8482; Personalized Pacifiers participate in the first-ever charity event held on the Universal Studios Wisteria Lane set for one of television's8217;s hottest shows, 's8220;Desperate Housewives.'s8221;

PADRES Contra El Cáncer, a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children with cancer and their families, held their annual El Sueño de Esperanza (Dream of Hope) Gala on September 6, 2006. PADRES National Spokesperson and Event Chair, Eva Longoria, welcomed celebrity guests and industry executives to the Desperate Housewives Wisteria Lane set at Universal Studios, Hollywood for the black-tie fundraiser. Billy Bush served as Master of Ceremonies for the event.

MyPacifier.com was invited to participate in the A-list celebrity gift tent. As celebrities came through the tent, on their way to an exclusive backyard cocktail party, a limited number of specially-invited vendors presented them with gifts to introduce their products. MyPacifier.com handed out sample personalized pacifiers with imprinted titles including 's8216;Future A-lister's8217;, 's8216;Hollywood Baby's8217;, 's8216;Desperate Housebaby's8217;, and 's8216;I am hope's8217; (the theme of PADRES Contra El Cáncer).

MyPacifier.com collected autographs on a 16 X 24's8221; framed poster of the company's8217;s official personalized pacifier test baby, Mason Redmond. Celebrities that signed the one of a kind poster include: George Lopez, comedian and star of TV; Mario Lopez, star of 's8220;Saved by the Bell's8221; and 's8220;Dancing with the Stars's8221;; Adrian Bellani, star of TV's8217;s 's8220;Passions's8221; series; Brenda Strong, Joy Lauren and Andrea Bowen of 's8220;Desperate Housewives's8221;; Matthew Underwood and Victoria Justice, stars of Nickelodeon's8217;s 's8220;Zoey 101's8221;; Carlos Mencia, comedian; Marion Ramsey, from 's8220;Police Academy's8217;; Denise Rich, songwriter and well-known socialite; Dick Van Patten from 's8220;Eight is Enough's8221;; James Van Patten, TV and movie star; Cristina Pérez of 's8220;Cristina's8217;s Court's8221;; Corina Villaraigosa, wife of L.A.'s8217;s mayor; Katrina Smirnoff of 's8220;Dancing with the Stars's8221; and a few others we frankly can's8217;t identify! The autograph poster is currently being auctioned on ebay, with 100% of the proceeds going to PADRES Contra El Cáncer courtesy of MyPacifier.com.

The reaction to MyPacifier's8482; Personalized Pacifiers was similar to that of all parents that see them for the first time. 's8220;What a great idea!'s8221; is the universal response amongst stars and non-stars. Some stars mentioned their other celebrity friends that have babies and promised to get MyPacifiers for them. Interestingly, the El Sueño de Esperanza Gala on Wisteria Lane was the event where the infamous Paris Hilton had a well-publicized DUI incident later in the evening. MyPacifier.com representatives did see her there, but didn's8217;t get her autograph on the auction poster. Perhaps she was busy enjoying that one margarita with friends!

The MyPacifier's8482; story started when a young mother in Denmark experienced the pacifier swap problem. Pia Callesen, the creator of MyPacifier's8482;, says 's8220;When I went to day care to pick up my son Frederik, more often than not I found that his pacifier had disappeared and Frederik had another child's8217;s pacifier in his mouth. I began searching for a pacifier product with a name on it, but I got the same answer in all the shops, 's8216;buy a permanent marker pen and write his name on the pacifier.'s8217; I thought it should be possible for all parents to buy a quality pacifier with their child's8217;s name engraved on it. Apart from looking good, it could then also survive repeated sterilization.'s8221;

Pia Callesen went on to invent the personalized pacifier, something she thought was sorely needed for mothers everywhere. Callesen spent months researching to find the right mix of a quality pacifier and the best-possible engraving equipment. 's8220;Since its launch in Denmark and Sweden, under the name Navnesutten.dk, there has been great interest in MyPacifier,'s8221; says Callesen. 's8220;When my family in California heard about my idea and how popular it was becoming, they decided that the time was right for personalized pacifiers to come to the United States. In partnership with Navnesutten.dk, Kim and Carol Pedersen of Fremont, California have made MyPacifier's8482; available to all American parents via their website, MyPacifier.com.'s8221; The Pedersens were both on hand at the Wisteria Lane gala, along with Carol's8217;s sister, Margrit Stevens. Stevens is the grandmother of Mason, MyPacifier.com's8217;s poster baby.

MyPacifier's8482; is a quality European-produced product, approved by the American Consumer Standards Association and certified to EN Standard 1400. MyPacifiers come in sizes for newborns, 0-3 months, and for infants older than three months.
