April 22 2005 During Monday's preelection mass Pope Benedict XVI then Cardinal Ratzinger said in his homily that he considered relativism the ideology
that the re are no absolute truths to be dangerous
We are moving towards a dictatorship of relativism which does not recognize anything as definitive and has as its highest value one's own ego and one's own desires he said He also called relativism a plague on the modern world and said that yes there is an absolute truth
