Text The Word announces a free trial of its sms Bible text-messaging service. This will enable new subscribers to receive Biblical encouragement four times a week for free, direct to their mobile phones.

After the first month, subscriptions will be charged at Text The Word's regular low-cost rates. These are typically GBP 6.00 per month for adults, and GBP 2.50 for under 18 members and other concessions.

After accounting for running costs, a large proportion of the subscription price remains for donation to charity.

Simon Marshall, proprietor of Text The Word, said, "Text The Word's sole purpose is to promote knowledge of the Scriptures. This latest initiative will make God's Word even more accessible, and allow new users to experience the benefits for one month before choosing to continue."
