Says the author, "Many have said to me, 'Oh, you're writing a book about Ben.' My response is, 'No, it's about God and who He was to me while our special needs child, Benjamin, was with us.' My life experience with our brain-damaged son qualifies me to pen that testimony. My personal, interactive relationship with the Lord for thirty-plus years has taught me how to trust Him, when to know His voice, and to learn that His Word speaks to all of life's matters."
After Benjamin's death, Crum channeled her grief into writing her book so that other believers would realize the greatness and reality of a loving relationship with God--no matter how steep their life challenge. As for the one thing she hopes readers take away from the reading of her story, it's that "God still responds when we call," she says. "His heart hasn't stopped its desire to be an integral part of our lives."
Carlene Crum and her husband, Bob, reside in Brownsburg, Indiana.
