Soldiers's Angels and its over 250,000 volunteers are presently led by founder and President, Patti Patton-Bader (http://soldiersangels.org/index.phppage=history). Now, exponential growth in its five years of existence has highlighted the need for an Executive Director. We are very excited that Soldiers's Angels has reached a level at which a fulltime Executive Director is necessary. The plan is for me to remain integrally involved, but the hiring of an Executive Director will allow me to focus more upon working directly with our deployed, wounded, and returning service members. The day to day business operations will be handled by the new Executive Director, Patton-Bader stated. She added, The enthusiasm and support of our volunteers and donors is at a very high level, and Soldiers's Angels believes an Executive Director will help ensure the organization is in a position to sustain the extraordinary level of support it has provided to our military men and men since its inception.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director will be expected to provide strategic leadership, empower and motivate senior volunteers, and oversee all day-to-day operations. Additional responsibilities will include financial management, volunteer development, program oversight, internal/external communications, fundraising, and hiring support staff and other key employees. The successful candidate is also expected to have prior significant leadership experience in a multi-faceted non-profit organization, knowledge of and appreciation for the military and their families, strong communications skills, and experience in financial planning and management.
