Ed Mrkvickas Be Not Deceived Receives 5Star Review

Ed Mrkvicka'ss Be Not Deceived, a book that challenges the modern interpretive understanding of salvation, has received another exceptional review.

Mrkvicka, a nationally recognized expert in the field of banking, the stock market and personal finance, is the author of eight published books on finance from major publishers and the banking expert for Boardroom Reports. More importantly, as it pertains to his new book, he is a life-long Bible student and lay minister.

Mrkvicka says, God'ss Word states repeatedly that many who believe they have accepted the gift of salvation, actually have not. Instead, they have been deceived into believing a cheap secular grace that says God'ss children can sin without consequence, when they cannot.

Prior to the review from Pursuing Holiness, Be Not Deceived was praised by KIRKUS: Mrkvicka argues that over the past 50 years, Christianity in America has trended toward a theology of 'sonce-saved-always-saved,'s relegating Bible-based social views and lifestyles to the realm of 'slegalism.'s This new theological stance is seen as a surrender to secular humanism, and to society'ss emphasis on a material culture in which self-denial is anathema. The author explains that most Christians who accept this teaching are doing so with the best of intentions, but that they are being deceived by Satan. He presents the scenario as a black-and-white contrast between true salvation through following the precepts of God provided by the Scriptures, and a false sense of salvation caused by rationalizing sinful actions. The book is well-written's8230;engaging's8230;thought-provoking.

Writing for Active Christian Media, F.W. Schultz stated: 'sBe Not Deceived's is an apt title for this book because of its stern warnings against believing the Satanic lie of antinomianism, which promotes sin among Christians by getting them to believe they need not obey God'ss law. Gaining victory through refuting Satanic lies also plays a prominent role in gaining victory over sin by Christians who do want to obey God, as Neil Anderson showed in 'sThe Bondage Breaker.'s Both these books show how devastating Satanic lies can be and that clear courageous Scriptural thinking is needed to defeat them and gain victory.

Be Not Deceived latest review from Pursuing Holiness says: Ever heard someone professing Christianity make comments like these Ever make them yourself

'sI may be backslidden, but I'sm still a Christian. You don'st know what'ss in my heart.'s

'sAll Christians sin; the bible even says we'sre never going to stop sinning -- so get off my back, already!'s 'sI know I'sm saved -- I said the prayer and asked Jesus to save me.'s

'sWho are you to criticize me Judge not, lest ye be judged.'s If you know that Christian, or if you are that Christian, you can'st afford to not read this book. 'sBe Not Deceived's examines salvation, repentance and obedience -- and the doctrine of 'sonce-saved-always-saved.'s

Is it possible to have justification without sanctification Can Jesus be your Savior without being your Lord What does biblical obedience really look like, and what does it mean if you'sre not doing it 'sBe Not Deceived's challenges professing Christians to take a long hard look at what'ss inside -- because where you spend eternity really does depend on it.

The first few chapters of the book discuss doctrine in plain English. Too many churches these days spend all their time on application and not doctrine, and many Christians simply have no idea why they profess what they profess. 'sBe Not Deceived's tackles the doctrine of salvation in a way that you don'st need a divinity degree to understand. A particularly useful section of the book is chapter 5, the 'sSpiritual Guide.'s It is an alphabetized topical listing of bible verses. While the lists are not comprehensive, they do make a good start -- if you'sre interested in learning what the bible says about hypocrisy, ingratitude or premarital sex, for example, these lists are the beginning of some good Bible studies. Finally, 'sBe Not Deceived's dispenses with today'ss 'scheap and easy grace's and lays out the reasons why Jesus can'st be your Savior without being your Lord.
