Tis the Season Christmas Shoppe will host a Military Tribute Prayer for Peace will take place on Friday and Saturday September 4th and 5th, 2009 at their location at 4363 State Route 39, Millersburg Ohio 44654.Visitors to the store during the event will receive a 20% discount on their purchases when they donate three items from a composed list for use in stockings that will be sent to military personnel serving our country overseas.

This will be the second year for Tis the Season, Ohio'ss largest year round Christmas shop, to host the event. The items suitable for this project include but are not limited to personal hygiene, snacks and other misc. items. Tis the Season will donate Christmas stockings and employees fill them with the supplies brought in by shoppers. The Holmes County Chapter of the Red Cross will be on hand with Christmas cards that guests can sign and even address to friends or relatives in the military during this event. Red Cross also helps with the shipping of all the stockings and they take responsibility for getting any additional items to bases where they can be used as needed.

This project could not happen without the help of our local American Red Cross, we so appreciate all their help says project manager and owner of Tis the Season Christmas Shoppe, Jo Ann Hershberger. Shoppers are encouraged to bring in names of family members to whom they would like stockings shipped, other stockings are shipped and distributed where needed. Although the sale is limited to the two days of the event on September 4th and 5th, 2009, donations are accepted through October and Christmas cards will be made available for anyone who wishes to send a card.
