4 Million Dollar Diamond in the Rough

Could it be After the Janurary 2006 Barrett-Jackson auction, the top selling spot went to the 1950 GM Futurliner, selling for almost 4.5 million dollars. The Futurliner set records and was the largest sale for a GM vehicle at auction. One of 12 built, the 1950 Futureliner "Parade of Progress" bus was created under GM design chief Harley Earl, who also styled the F-88 and Bonneville Special.

Soon after the high-selling bid at the auction for the Futurliner, OldRide.com began to receive several e-mails and phone calls about a "Rusty Ride" photograph on the website of an old, unrestored rusting away GM Futurliner. OldRide.com features classic car classifieds, events and information about classic cars, and also has a Rusty Rides photo section with pictures of abandoned and junkyard cars that have been left to rusty away. The picture of the GM Futureliner was sent in by an OldRide.com user. The owner and location of the GM Furtureliner bus in the Rusty Ride photo is not known as well as if this is a different bus than the one that sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction. However the owner of this GM futureliner is definitely holding a "diamond in the rough".
