The song was originally recorded as a demo in 1991 on a four track cassette recorder and because of the quality of that recording it never found a life. Now, a new recording of the song breathes life into the long dormant tune. Larry Whitler said that while he was digging into his box of over a thousand songs, that were never properly recorded, he came across "1970 Nova" and remembered the great times he had during the years he owned the brown Chevy.
The new recording of "1970 Nova" conveys a spirit of fun. The song will be included in Whitler's upcoming CD tentatively titled "Signed, Infinity." The CD is his fourth since early 2007 in which Whitler revisits songs he penned many years earlier as well as new songs.
With his partner Robin MacBlane, Larry Whitler has been doing the same thing with music intended for children and parents under their duo name of Robin And The Giant. New songs for the children's projects have been written and recorded and earlier songs have been included in the newer CDs also.
